For forty years, Janice has traveled overseas one or more times each year with her church to live and work for two weeks with Christians from partnering churches. This volunteer mission work has taken her to six continents and hundreds of congregations where she has been both a participant and a learner. Most recently, Janice and husband Jerry have been serving as area coordinators for the countries of Western Europe with International Commission.
Janice recently published an eBook, Travel Can Be More Than a Trip: FAQs for First-time International Mission Trippers, sharing tips from her years of mission trip experiences. She provides a resource for adults who are considering the idea of a short-term mission trip and are wanting additional information about what to expect. Each of the book’s 10 chapters answers a common question about mission travel; they cover topics from fundraising to knowing what to pack to avoiding cultural faux pas.
