A true Renaissance Woman and life-time-learner,
Janice's interests and involvements have included the arts, historical
associations, youth programs, interpreting for the deaf, community
activities and numerous church ministries.
Janice graduated from Baylor University in 1969
with a degree in mathematics and secondary education. She earned a
Masters in Library Science from the University of North Texas in 1983.
Married for 40 years, mother of two grown children, and a grandmother,
Janice has worked as a teacher, tax accountant, seamstress, free-lance writer,
Dallas Morning News opinion columnist, radio
book reviewer, as well as a speaker and oral book performer. She currently serves as the Director of the Media
Library of the First Baptist Church of McKinney.
For over thirty years, Janice has traveled
overseas one or more times each year with her church to live and work for two weeks with
Christians from partnering churches. This volunteer mission work has
taken her to six continents and hundreds of congregations where she has
been both a participant and a learner. Most recently, Janice and
husband Jerry have been serving as area coordinators for the countries
of Western Europe with
International Commission.
